SAYHUSH FIELD NOTES

Monologue vs Sayhush: a notes workflow or prepaid Mac dictation?

By · Reviewed

Monologue combines dictation with notes, meeting notes and AI-tool connections. Sayhush focuses on inserting a spoken draft into a Mac text field, with optional encrypted local transcript history. Choose according to where your words need to go afterward.

Identify the output you want to keep

This is a Sayhush-authored comparison based on official product information, not an independent benchmark. A draft inserted into another app, a saved voice note and a meeting record solve different jobs. Start by choosing the output you want and who must be able to access it.

Monologue’s wider notes workflow

Monologue describes dictation, voice notes and bot-free meeting notes, together with MCP/API connections. Investigate it if your workflow depends on revisiting a captured note or making notes available to another tool. Check which features belong to each platform and plan. A website feature list is not proof that every feature is available in every context.

Sayhush’s smaller text-entry workflow

With Sayhush, select a text field, tap the shortcut, speak, then tap again to insert. Pause and Resume let you collect a draft without holding the keys. Recognition uses a cloud service. The app currently supports Apple Silicon Macs with macOS 14 or newer. It does not record meetings, capture system audio or provide MCP access to your notes.

Local history is not a shared notebook

Sayhush can keep finished transcript text in encrypted local history. That lets you find or copy a previous dictation on the same Mac. It does not synchronize across devices, retain an audio recording, assign speakers or summarize a meeting. Decide whether those missing capabilities are essential before treating history as a replacement for a notes system.

Compare price against the correct job

Sayhush offers 30 free minutes each calendar month and non-expiring $5/300-minute or $12/1,000-minute packs. Review Monologue’s current plans for the notes or meeting workflow you need; no numeric Monologue price is asserted here. A dictation-only pack cannot be compared fairly with a broader notes plan by dividing dollars alone.

A practical decision test

For text insertion, speak a paragraph into a disposable document and review it. For notes, separately test retrieval, export and any external connection you require in a product that supports them. Choose Sayhush for focused Mac drafting when that is sufficient. Choose a broader product when captured notes or meetings are the core requirement.
