JavaScript is required for this calculation. A $5 pack contains 300 minutes and a $12 pack contains 1,000 minutes. Subtract up to 30 free minutes each month from your expected use, then compare the full packs needed with the subscription’s total charge.

What this estimate assumes

Equal usage each month, the full free allowance available, no starting paid balance, and no tax or discounts. Estimates use whole minutes; actual usage is rounded up to the next second per recording segment. It finds the cheapest combination of the two packs for that usage. It counts full pack purchases upfront and shows unused paid credits. Free minutes do not roll over; paid credits do not expire.

The other plan’s price is your input, not a verified competitor quote. If an annual plan advertises a monthly equivalent, check its annual upfront charge separately. This calculation does not compare features, limits, recognition accuracy or supported devices.

One example

At 100 minutes a month for three months, 90 minutes are free and 210 need paid credits. One $5 pack covers that usage and leaves 90 minutes. You pay $5 upfront, not the unit-price value of exactly 210 minutes.
