For predictable punctuation and paragraphs, dictate short units of meaning, review the inserted text and use your editor for exact formatting. Spoken punctuation commands vary by tool and mode. Sayhush should not be treated as a general document-formatting command system.
Start with a sentence, not a command list
Speak a complete sentence at a comfortable pace and inspect the result. Recognition may infer punctuation, but a pause is not a reliable promise of a particular symbol. Test a sentence containing a question and a qualification before using a new setup for an important message. Keep the words you intend separate from any editing instruction you are considering.
Use paragraph-sized recordings
One useful approach is to record a short paragraph, stop and review it, then press Return in the destination editor before starting the next. That gives you direct control of paragraph boundaries. In Sayhush, Pause keeps the same draft open; it is not a command to insert a new paragraph into the document.
Type exact formatting when it matters
For a numbered list, table, quotation or code block, create the structure in the editor and dictate the prose into the appropriate field. Do not expect saying “bullet point” or “heading two” to invoke an editor command in every app. If an app documents specific speech commands, test those separately in that app’s own mode.
A simple original example
Suppose the intended message is: “The draft is ready. Please review the introduction. Can you send comments by Thursday?” Dictate those three sentences, then inspect sentence endings. If the first two belong in separate paragraphs, insert the break manually. This is an illustrative target text, not a claim about a particular recognition result.
Review quotations and emphasis
Read punctuation that could change meaning: a missing question mark, a quotation attached to the wrong speaker or a comma inside a number. Type exact quoted material from the source when required. Do not assume the recognizer knows which words should be bold or which text is a citation. Editing remains part of the workflow.
Build a repeatable habit
Use short recordings for content and your familiar editor controls for structure. If your work repeatedly needs a documented voice-editing feature, compare tools that provide it rather than forcing a transcriber to behave like an editor. Check the final document visually before sending, particularly when line breaks carry meaning.
