Superwhisper is worth evaluating when offline processing, configurable modes or a wider audio workflow matter. Sayhush focuses on cloud dictation into a text field with tap, pause/resume and prepaid minutes. We build Sayhush; this page compares documented scope, not measured recognition quality.
Decide whether local processing is a requirement
Superwhisper advertises offline transcription and configurable modes. Its site also presents file transcription and a meeting assistant. Those capabilities make it a different scope of product from a short personal dictation session. If offline use is a firm requirement, investigate its local configuration first: Sayhush requires an internet connection and does not offer a local recognition model.
On a small screen, scroll the table sideways to see all columns.
| Requirement | Where to start |
|---|---|
| Offline recognition | Evaluate Superwhisper’s local setup |
| Audio files or meeting workflow | Review Superwhisper’s documented capabilities |
| Tap, pause and insert a personal draft | Trial Sayhush’s floating dock |
| Recognition quality for your vocabulary | Run the same sample in both; no winner measured here |
Choose how much transformation you want
Superwhisper describes predefined and custom modes, vocabulary support and automatic text insertion. Review the chosen mode to understand whether the result is a transcript or rewritten text. Sayhush’s current workflow transcribes your speech without an AI rewrite layer. If you want tone changes or other transformations, do not assume they are included in Sayhush because it uses speech recognition.
Evaluate the everyday controls
In Sayhush, one shortcut press starts a draft and another finishes it. The floating dock lets you pause without inserting, resume and stop when ready. Hold-to-talk is optional. Try this in your normal writing routine rather than comparing feature counts alone. More configurable modes may be useful for one person and unnecessary for another; that is a preference to test.
Keep file and meeting requirements separate
Sayhush does not import audio files, capture meeting audio or label speakers. Its recording limit is five minutes across the segments of a session. If the job is processing an existing recording or documenting a call, evaluate a product explicitly built for that input. A successful test of short dictation does not demonstrate support for a longer audio workflow.
Compare current checkout terms with your usage
Check Superwhisper’s official site for the current license and plan terms; this page does not quote an unverified checkout price. Sayhush lists 30 free minutes per month and non-expiring paid packs of 300 minutes for $5 or 1,000 for $12. Compare the total purchase commitment and the features you need, including any separate cloud-provider arrangement a chosen configuration may require.
Use a trial to resolve the real tradeoff
Choose the same paragraph, microphone and editor. If one mode rewrites the text, label that difference before evaluating the output. Check correction effort, interruption controls and processing settings. Prefer Superwhisper when its documented local or broader workflow capabilities are the requirement; trial Sayhush when straightforward online dictation with prepaid usage matches the job. We have not run a comparative benchmark for this page.
