What is Sayhush, and who is Hush?

Sayhush is a dictation app for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. Intel Macs are not supported by this release. Hush is our cloud mascot. Use a keyboard shortcut to turn microphone speech into text in your existing apps.

Can I pause or change the shortcut?

Yes. Use Pause/Resume beside the cloud to take a break without inserting your draft. Paused time sends no audio. Tap your shortcut again or click Stop to insert the combined text. Customize the shortcut or switch to hold-to-talk in Settings.

Which languages can I use?

Sayhush supports multilingual dictation with automatic language detection. Accuracy varies by language, accent, microphone, and background noise. Use your free minutes to try the languages you write in.

Does Sayhush work in every app?

Sayhush pastes into standard text fields when macOS Accessibility allows it. Some secure or custom fields require manual paste. Your finished text is always available to copy.

Do I need to keep paying every month?

No. The free allowance refreshes each calendar month in UTC. Pro is a one-time purchase of additional minutes. There is no subscription, and unused paid minutes don’t expire.

Where does my audio go?

Recording audio is sent securely to our cloud transcription service. Sayhush does not store recordings. Optional text history is encrypted and stored only on your Mac. See our privacy notice for the processors and data involved.

Can Sayhush transcribe my meetings?

Not in this version. Sayhush is focused on personal dictation through your microphone. Meetings and calls are a possible future direction, not a feature included in these plans.

What happens if I run out?

Sayhush stops accepting new recordings until your free allowance refreshes or you buy another pack. There are no automatic overage charges.
